Helping female artists to connect with one another and provide artistic opportunities....
Artist Statement

Much of my imagery centers on the idea of beauty…its changing definition, its power and the struggle to attain and retain it.  I believe that all Art derives from aspects of the self, be that personal experience, reactions of the heart, or the dark and light places in the mind.  I feel that everything an artist creates can be traced back to a profound experience in their life.  That a viewer is able to connect on any level is truly satisfying.  I’m find inspiration every day.  I’m inspired by my students.  Many of them are so brave in depicting their lives and fearless in what they think is possible.  I envy Mary Ellen Mark’s documentary work and her innate ability to acclimate to any situation.  I don’t feel that he influences my work but Keith Carter’s words and imagery haunt me.  I appreciate the skill and devotion of masters like Jerry Uelsmann, Edward Weston and Richard Avedon and the passion and humanity of the wondrous Bruce Davidson and the heart wrenching Nan Goldin.
